Triumphs in Kneading

Whoever said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder was most certainly talking about my bread baking abilities. That's right...bread baking. As in, from scratch. As in, one domestic accomplishment down. Personal triumphs come in all forms. Mine is in that misshapen loaf right up there.

"Bake my own bread" has lingered on the bottom of my life to-do list for YEARS. Mocking me because the premise of it is so simple yet I can't seem to accomplish it. "Be the kind of person that bakes their own bread," that's that my list was telling me. Simple ingredients, complex execution.

So with my (now) very wise lessons in breadmaking underway and two very unfortunate looking but delious products to show for myself this is what I've learned. Eat it up.

Life is in the Lining: Head Start Holiday Cards

If the devil is in the details then he is the only thing standing in between me and my dreams of amazing envelope-lined holiday cards.

About this time every fall I start imagining the colors and patterns that are going to grace the inside of my cheery holiday envelopes. And then somehow the calendar condenses from October 15 to December 20 in a matter of days and my dreams are dashed...every year.

Well not this year! This year I'm starting early, and possibly shortcutting it to holiday cheer bliss by ordering the whole lot as a printable from Etsy.

All I need now is an adorable red-headed child to adopt before my December mail date.

Dwelling on Dwell

I got so excited over the new DwellStudio catalog in the mail pile yesterday that it looked like I had gotten a big ole' Tiffany's box slipped through my mail slot. I went head over heels for every.single.page. In my mind the new furniture line is a perfect blend of the classic shapes and modern pattern. You're going to want to move into every single one of these pages.

I don't think I could have an actual animal head on my walls, but I mix of art is great.

I heart you graceful-legged side tables all lined up in a row.

Stripes, Ikat, Fresh colors. Say no more.

As much as I love some of the sofas, this is the piece that I would kill for

Rustic Yellow Morning

Stylist always chatter on about wearing high end with low end (Gap with my Tarjay?) and mixing polished with undone. Here's a cabin combination I could get behind:

Rustic (cabinetry) with Bright (island)
with some glossy (marble) and vintage (glass chandelier) thrown in
